Crab’s Shack, everyone agrees, is an awesome family beach house. Two of its best features are the proximity to the beach and the private dock on the canal. If you are looking for a close and easy walk to the beach paired with the ability to keep your own boat or just to be able to fish and crab off of a dock, Crab’s Shack would be perfect for you! For the beach lovers, there are no sand dunes to cross. The ramp access to the beautiful and uncrowded beach is directly across the street from the end of the driveway. So close! The dock is located on the canal behind the house. It features a floating dock, fish cleaning table, bench seating, and crab traps for your use. Enjoy sunrises on the beach and sunsets on the dock!

Location

We are so very lucky to have the Crab’s Shack in the location it is in. We are on the southern end of Tarpon Blvd which is where the beautiful beach is very close to the houses and also where the canal provides easy access to the rivers and the uninhabited islands farther south. Even though we are not “ocean front,” we are so close that the beach is literally across the street from our driveway. Once you walk over the ramp access, you are on the beach, unlike other areas to the north of us where one has to traverse sand dunes and walkways to reach the sand and water. Imagine you’re on the beach and you need to run back to the house for something – it’s right there! In addition, the dock out back is fully stationed with down lights for nighttime fishing or crabbing, a fish table for cleaning your catch and a floating dock for your personal watercraft. And when you are finished with all the fun the day has to offer, our house offers such comfort for that time when everyone just wants to unwind with a good movie or maybe a glass of wine while looking at the sunset from the dock. Life is good.

Our kitchen is fully stocked with a myriad of utensils and cookware necessary to prepare meals for your family. Our bed linens and bath towels are soft and fresh and our sofas are plush and comfy. We have two full showers under the cottage that are perfect for washing off the sand and salt water before going up to the house. We hope you find our home as comfortable as we do. Enjoy your stay!
